Audrey Holliday - Clinic Services Representative

Audrey is a long time resident of Sherwood Park. She moved to the Park shortly after her graduation and has worked at Nor Med Therapies/Lifemark Health for over 24 years. She has extensive training in orthopedic and manual physical therapy. In addition to providing patient care at Nor Med Therapies Audrey has always been very involved in this community. She was chair of the Torch Relay Team for the 2000 Winter Games and the Western Canada Summer Games here in Sherwood Park. She organized the polyclinic for these games as well, with support from many of the staff of Nor Med Therapies. She was very involved in the Sherwood Park Ringette Association for many years. She also coordinated and instructed 'Learn to Run" clinics prior to Sherwood Park getting its own Running Room. In 2004, Audrey co-founded Parents Empowering Parents (PEP), a group providing support, education and direction to families dealing with drug addicted children. In October 2009, Audrey moved into the role of Clinic Service Representative for LifeMark Health to enhance the professional delivery of care in all Edmonton area clinics.

Moyra Holliday - Clinic Director

Moyra moved with her family to Sherwood Park from Edmonton over 16 years ago. She has a wide variety of experience in the field of physiotherapy, starting at the University Hospital in Edmonton then moving to rural Alberta taking on a sole charge hospital position for 4 years and eventually moving to consulting and private practice work. Moyra has also provided many years of service to both the College of Physical Therapists of Alberta in the role of Clinical Reviewer and the Alberta Physiotherapy Association in various executive roles including board member and Chair of the Private Practice Committee. She was a representative for the Alberta Physiotherapy Association to the Provincial Government of Alberta during the auto insurance reforms representing the concerns of both the physical therapy profession and patients. Since joining LifeMark Health, Moyra enjoys the role of Clinic Director in charge of operations at Nor Med Therapies Central and West locations, working to ensure excellent care and top notch results for our clients.

Jared Chuchmuch
Master of Science, Physical Therapy - University of Alberta Advanced Certificate Athletic Therapy - Mount Royal College Bachelor of Exercise & Sport - University of Manitoba
Nor Med Therapies is very fortunate to have a Physiotherapist who is also an Athletic Therapist. Jared has extensive experience as an athletic therapist for hockey, football and volleyball teams and has also provided athletic therapy coverage for basketball, soccer, track and field and the Western Canada Summer Garmes here in Sherwood Park. He has worked as a summer hockey school instructor/team leader at several hockey schools. Jared has continued his education in manual therapy as well as many sport medicine and coaching courses. Jared is an avid athlete himself, enjoying playing hockey, golf and baseball. He is also our newest newlywed on staff!

Elise Gervais

Elise joined Nor Med Therapies in 2008 and is a real pleasure to be around. She has extensive experience in hand therapy from her previous years at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and presents on hand and wound courses in the province. In addition to being a wonderful therapist, Elise is a busy mom to three beautiful little boys. Although we're not sure how she has any spare time, she does find time to do yoga, make jewelery, garden and compete in triathalons. Elise is currently on maternity leave and will be returning to Nor Med in September 2010.

Charlotte Dowhaniuk

Char joined Nor Med Therapies in 1996. Char has taken many continuing education courses since her graduation from university and has a Diploma of Advanced Manual Therapy as well as many manual and orthopedic courses. She is currently studying acupuncture through the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine, and will soon be certified to do Medical Acupuncture, another addition to her wonderful skill set. Char is a passionate hockey fan being one of the Oilers most staunch supporters. She is also a hockey player and played female hockey in the the NAFHA. Char is a devoted sports enthusiast in other sports as well such as baseball and volleyball. Her most recent sport though is running after her identical twin daughters who are 3 years old.

Allison Gaudet

Ally is a ray of sunshine each and every day, and a great addition to the Nor Med team. Ally has taken many continuing education courses such as neuroproprioceptive taping, McKenzie techniques, physiology of pain, advanced courses in manual therapy and soft tissue techniques. Another avid athlete, Ally plays volleyball, cycles, and runs. She is also a certified instructor of spin classes and other fitness classes. She has been the conditioning and onfield trainer for womens' soccer, and has provided the same services in hockey as well. When she isn't working or taking post-graduate courses, Ally spends lots of time with her favorite four-legged friend Max.

Kathy Hayashi
Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy - University of Alberta
Kathy joined Nor Med Therapies in March of 1998. Prior to that, she worked at Active Care Physical Therapy in Sherwood Park. In 1995 and 1996 Kathy worked as a locum therapist in the southern United States. We were thrilled when she decided to return to Sherwood Park. Kathy has extensive training in orthopedic, manual therapy and TMJ treatment approaches. She is currently completing her certification in Medical Acupuncture through the University of Alberta, and is thoroughly enjoying the ability to add acupuncture to her practice to benefit her patients. In her spare time Kathy is an avid runner, skier and golfer. She has raised funds and run in two "Joints In Motion" marathons for the Arthritis Society. She also has completed a the Great White North Ironman competition and many triathalons. Kathy's patients absolutely adore her and come back time and time again for those "healing hands".

Carla Paul

Carla recently joined Nor Med as a full time massage therapist. Carla is a member of the Massage Therapy Association of Alberta (MTAA). She enjoys doing both relaxation and therapeutic massage. In her spare time she enjoys reading and walking her 2 puppies, as well as participating in fundraisers for cancer. Carla is currently raising money for cancer research through a "Shave-Your-Head" campaign. So if you see her without hair, don't worry, just congratulate her on supporting a very worthwhile cause!

Codi Issac

Codi first came to us as a senior student completing her Masters Degree and she was an immediate fit with our organization. when we were finally able to coordinate our schedules with hers she joined our team in a full time capacity in August of 2007. Codi has also had significant experience working in the sports world as coach, trainer and voluteer for gymnastics, rugby and hockey. She has completed advanced training in sport medicine and is our "go-to" person for concussion assessment and treatment. Codi, her husband and two children live in Sherwood Park.

Mark Labrentz

Mark has been with Nor Med Therapies since 1998 in a part time capacity while also working at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. In his position at the hospital Mark works primarily in orthopedics and hand therapy, bringing extensive knowledge and experience to our clinic. He also has advanced certification in two of his greatest passions, acupuncture and IMS. Since 2002 Mark has been part of the Orthopedic Medical Mission to Ecuador every year, volunteering one to two weeks of his time, to attend to the post surgical rehab needs of over 30 total joint replacements performed within 5 days plus numerous other orthopedic interventions. Mark has also volunteered physical therapy services at numerous sporting events in and around the Edmonton area and is himself an avid cyclist. Mark, his wife and three children live in Sherwood Park.

Melissa Prokop
Master of Science in Physical Therapy - University of Alberta Bachelor of Exercise Science - University of Lethbridge
We are very excited to have Melissa on our treatment team at Nor Med Central. Melissa brings a keen interest and experience in sports and sport injuries, which translates to work-related injuriesd as well. She has played soccer at elite levels, including Team Alberta and the University of Lethbridge. Melissa is continuing her post-graduate education in manual therapy, trigger point therapy, soft tissue techniques and the neurophysiology of pain. We love watching Melissa develop therapeutic exercise programs for her patients to return them in "tip top shape" to their work and sport activities. Melissa fills her spare time with soccer, athletics, running and playing with her adorable dog, Mylo.

James Squire

James is one of our home town boys. James was raised in Sherwood Park and attended high school at Salisbury Composite High School. He joined Nor Med Therapies in September of 2005. He received his certificate in Spinal Mobilization in 2006. James returned from a one-year sabbatical in January 2009 during which he achieved his Master of Manipulative Therapy in Perth, Australia. He is currently involved in teaching our mentorship courses for LifeMark Health and is an excellent clinical instructor for the U of A MScPT students. James is very involved in the sporting community in Sherwood Park and returning to his alma mater, has been a trainer/coach for the Salisbury Composite High School Football Program since 2005. We are thrilled to have James back from Australia and hope the "travel bug" didn't get to him to lure him to warmer climates!

Debbie Taggart

Deb has just celebrated her 25th year with Nor Med Therapies. She came to Nor Med with extensive experience in many areas of physical therapy but most notably in the treatment of hand injuries. Deb has taken countless continuing education courses to continue to hone and expand her physical therapy skills. Deb has also been instrumental in teaching many physical therapy students over the years, providing them with excellence in clinical placement education. Deb is respected by patients, physical therapists and physicians alike for her skills and caring approach particularly in the treatment of hand injuries. We are so fortunate to have a clinician with the experience, skills and dedication that Deb brings to our practice. Very few clinics can boast about the abilities of a physical therapist like Debbie Taggart. Deb and her husband live in Sherwood park and are die-hard Sherwood Park Crusader fans.

Mira is a wonderful member of the Nor Med Therapies treatment team. She has a gentle, kind personality which complements her professional expertise. Mira is continuing to train in advanced manual therapy and other physiotherapy skills She is also a certified provider of Medical Acupuncture, increasing her treatment options for her patients. Mira has done extensive volunteer work including being an overseas medical volunteer and English tutor. Her life outside of the clinic is busy with travel and looking after her new puppy.

Dianna Linton

We are very fortunate to have the skills that Dianna brings to Nor Med Therapies... and ALL the way from the East coast of Canada! Dianna has extensive experience in occupational health services, providing ergonomic assessments, return to work conditioning, pre-employment screens and functional capacity evaluations. Dianna has certified in the Matheson Work Conditioning course and the LifeMark Health Functional Capacity Evaluation course. She worked in New Brunswick as a personal trainer, often working with clients directly referred by insurance companies and physicians. She is our "go-to" person for patient exercise programs and general patient education. Dianna enjoys soccer and volleyball, and is anxious to learn some "Alberta" sports such as curling and golf.

Erica is a dynamic massage therapist who works full time for LifeMark Health. Erica works at Nor Med Therapies on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and at our Lake Beaumaris location the other weekdays. She is a member of the Massage Therapist Association of Alberta (MTAA). We are really enjoying having Erica as part of the Nor Med team and she certainly is making a difference in the quality of life for her patients!

Angila Kuehne

We knew from the first time we spoke to Angila that she was a great addition to our facility. Angila is a popular massage therapist, providing both therapeutic and relaxation massage to clients. Her clients adore her and her friendly, sunny disposition. Even without the massage, time spent with Angila makes you feel better! Prior to moving to the Edmonton area Angila lived in Peace River and was involved with the Peace River Highland Dance Society for 8 years training and instructing both children and adults. Angila is now a settled resident of our area and spends her free time landscaping, exercising and playing with her favorite little puppy.

Shauna Kufeldt

Shauna originally joined Nor Med Therapies at our West location in 2001 when it was still known as Pro Max Rehabilitation. Shauna was certified by the National Sports Council of Canada for Carded Athletes in 2002. In her spare time Shauna often volunteers massage therapy services for major sporting events in and around Edmonton. She has volunteered at the Rugby Women's World Cup (2006), the Churchill Cup (2005), the Canadian Birkebeiner Ski Festival (2003). Shauna is also an avid sport enthusiast herself and traveled to Africa to compete in her first half marathon. Since then she has completed two Half Iron Man competitions, numerous marathons and triathalons. She is an inspiration to all of us, and we love working with her!!

Cindy Coneen

Cindy moved to Sherwood Park three years ago from Ontario with her husband and four children. Cindy comes to us with an extensive and impressive list of qualifications and experience. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy. She is the only clinician that we know that is able to use Low Energy Photon Therapy very successfully in her practice. Cindy has practiced across Canada with the majority of her time being spent in Ontario. We're not sure how she does all that she does, but Cindy is fully bilingual and manages to organize her four children in their numerous sporting activities as well as keep herself involved in speed skating and running. And she does all of this with kindness, compassion and skill.

Janet MacDonald

Janet joined us in November of 2006 and she brings to our facility a wealth of knowledge and experience. She and her family moved from Ontario where she had owned and operated her own physical therapy clinic since 1994. She has undertaken extensive post secondary education in orthopedics and neurology. Janet is certified in acupuncture and is the only Sherwood Park physiotherapist certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation. As such, she runs our Balance and Dizziness Program, offering hope to the many people living with these issues. In Ontario Janet was very involved in her community providing guest lectures to various groups on topics such as running injuries, pre and post natal exercises and trigger point pain. She was also involved in several fund raising events for local organizations such as the Canadian Cancer Society and the Brampton Arthritic Society. Janet and her family live in Sherwood Park and her three boys are firmly entrenched in the local hockey scene.

Allison Shaw

Allison is another of our returning senior students and again it was clear very early in her placement that she was a natural fit with our organization. Allison is an avid volleyball athlete and received a varsity scholarship for volleyball during her first undergraduate degree. Allison's second undergraduate degree was in Dietetics. Allison's experience and approach to health and fittness is a huge asset to her practice as a physical therapist. Allison is completing advanced training in manual therapy and other courses to enhance her patient care. She is a popular therapist with our clients, and her kind and compassionate personality provide healing to many.

In her leisure time, Marianne enjoys being outdoors, camping and travelling.
